Sometimes the difficulties we face in life can keep us stuck and stop us from living our best life. Unhealthy patterns of thinking and behaving leave us emotionally drained and physically exhausted. Our deficits and challenges can illuminate before our eyes, while our strengths and possibilities fade.

My aim is to provide you with a confidential, safe, and non-judgmental healing space so you can be seen, heard and witnessed with authenticity, curiosity and unconditional positive regard so you can heal and grow. Science has shown that people can flourish even during their most difficult times. I provide a non-directive, compassionate and gentle counselling approach that offers a trusted platform where you can explore your strengths and shadows with confidence and at your own pace.

Primarily, we will work with your present moment mind and body experiences. That is, thoughts, beliefs and perceptions, and felt emotions and body sensations. At times we may reflect on your past experience if it’s impacting you in the present. At other times we may look to the future to create actionable steps and bring the change you seek. 

You lead the theme of our sessions, while I integrate various modalities, models, measures, exercises, and interventions to assist you to make sense of your inner world and how you are interacting with the world around you.

You are the centre of all sessions and I meet you where you’re at in each moment. Mindfulness and compassion form the basis of my work. I will accompany you on your path of self-discovery where you will uncover your strengths and values, reengage your mind and body to become your own best friend.  

 I create bespoke programs to meet your specific needs drawing from theories and models from positive psychology, neuroscience, and behavioral science. These may include elements of appreciative inquiry, motivational interviewing, collaborative recovery model, mindfulness-based approaches, acceptance and commitment therapy, emotion-focused therapy, polyvagal theory, narrative therapy, mindful self-compassion, psychodynamic and attachment theories, PERMA, self-determination theory, or stages of change.

Whether this is the comfort of your own home, the convenience of meeting online, or somewhere that has real meaning for you, somewhere where you can do your best work. For me it’s being near water or even better the ocean, for you it might be walking in nature or sitting beneath the trees. Whatever it is we’ll tailor your experience to bring out the best in you.
